Pastoral Ministry

Baptism: Parents need to see one of the priests and then attend the Baptismal Preparation Course before their child’s Baptism can be booked.

First Holy Communion: Classes start in September each year and registration is notified in the Parish Newsletter. Preparation takes place on Saturday mornings. First Holy Communion takes place in May. Children should be in School Year 3 (7 years or older at the start of the class).

Confirmation: Classes start in September. Registration is notified in the Parish Newsletter. Preparation takes place on Sunday afternoons. Candidates should be 14 years of age or older when they begin their preparation.

Sacrament of Reconciliation: This Sacrament is administered every Saturday from 8.30am to 9.00am before the Morning Mass, 5.30pm to 6.00pm before the Evening Mass or at any time on request.

Marriage: If you are planning to get married at the La Salette Parish, please call the Parish Office and make an appointment to see the Parish Priest. You need to give at least six months’ notice so that marriage preparation and paperwork can be completed. You will also need to attend a Marriage Preparation Course.

Sacrament of the Sick & Home Visits: If you or someone you know is in hospital or housebound and would like us to visit them, please contact the Parish Office. We are also able to bring Holy Communion to our sick parishioners at home. This also is arranged through the Parish Office.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word: This takes place during 11am Mass on Sunday during  school term-time only.

RCIA (Journey in Faith): This course, for adults who wish to become Catholics, begins usually in September and runs until the following Easter when Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion are received.
